Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS)

This is the second of the courses required to be taken to be considered "trained" for the positions of Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster. 

Tentative course structure:

There will be virtual learning (approx. 2 hours per week) leading up to the in-person practical session. TBD. Virtual learning will be comprised of large group (live), small group (live) and individual learning (pre-recorded) sessions.  The in-person sessions will include overnight tent camping, which is required for course completion.

Who: Registered students and staff

What: IOLS in person practical

When: Friday, April 14th, 2023 7PM  to  Saturday, April 15th, 2023 7PM 

Where: Camp Minsi, 106 Camp Minsi Rd, Pocono Summit, Pa 18346

Why: Complete course requirements, learn something and have some fun

There will be a virtual learning session (Zoom link will be forwarded ahead of time) on Wednesday March 29^th from 7:00PM to 8:45PM that must be attended to complete the course.

The cost of the course is $35 per person which includes one night of camping as well as dinner on Saturday evening as part of the in person, outdoor portion of this course.

No youth will be allowed at the course.

Participants will need to complete and provide a copy of their BSA medical form parts A/B.  Click here for Medical form
