Lehigh District Fall Bike-O-Ree

When: October 14-16, 2022

Where: Trexler Scout Reservation and Glen Onoko (Jim Thorpe) to/from Rockport

What: 25 Mile Biking Uphill to Rockport/downhill return.

Cost: $8.00 per person (includes Camp Fees & Patch).

Come join us for a wildly wacky, wickedly wonderful, wheelie weekend. You do not need any special bike for this. One speed, three speed, ten speed, or whatever speed bike you have. We do not recommend that you take bikes with very skinny tires. The route is on packed gravel/an old railway bed.

Arrive Friday, October 14th at Trexler Scout Reservation and set up your camp. Scouts attend a bike inspection and safety meeting at 8:45 PM. Leader/SPL meeting at 9:30 PM.

Saturday morning-prepare your breakfast to fuel you for fun. Pack up a bag lunch to take with you. Don't forget your water, bike helmet, first aid kit, and some basic bike repair tools. Your troop will be assigned a time to be at Glen Onoko-it will be early! Drive to Glen Onoko (Jim Thorpe), where the bike ride will start and end (approximate travel time from camp-30 minutes). There are "ruins" at several locations-look but do not climb on them. At the turnaround point (Rockport), we will have a comfort station available to provide assistance if needed. There will be extra water if needed. After completing your ride, load up your bikes and return to camp. Make your dinner, clean-up, and prepare to attend the 8:00 PM Campfire. Each troop should have a skit or song ready.

Sunday-pack up and have a safe trip home.
