Pioneer Camp is designed to provide your Webelos II Scouts with a taste of how a Boy Scout Troop operates. Scouts who participate in the Pioneer Program will stay with Pioneer Camp for most of the week, but will be with the rest of your pack for most meals and evening activities. Pioneer Camp is focused on teaching the skills necessary to be successful as a first year Boy Scout. In 2015, Pioneer Camp will be using the previous requirements and will transition to the new Cub Scout Program in 2016.
The highlight of the week is the Pioneer Camp Outpost, when Pioneer Camp participants set up their own tents and stay together as one Boy Scout troop. They will also have their own shooting ranges, an extended hike, and instruction in orienteering, Leave No Trace principles and extended camping and hiking skills.
