What to Bring - Cub Scout Summer Camp

To help your Cub Scout have a safe, comfortable, and fun week at camp, please review this packing list carefully. All items should be labeled with your Scout’s name.

Cub Scouts will be active all day, so pack for outdoor adventure, changing weather, and lots of fun!

Essentials

• Scout uniform (field uniform)
• Activity uniform (Scout T-shirt)
• Sweatshirt or light jacket
• Sneakers (at least one sturdy pair)
• Hiking boots
• Sleeping bag or sheets and blanket
• Pillow
• Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc.)
• Bath towel 
• Swim towel
• Water shoes (or closed-toe footwear that can get wet)
• Refillable water bottle
• Flashlight or headlamp (with extra batteries)
• Medications (see health section below)

Clothing

• Enough clothing for the full week
• Socks
• Underwear
• Sleepwear
• Rain jacket or poncho
• Hat for sun protection
• Swimsuit
• Extra pair of shoes (recommended)

Bedding & Personal Gear

• Sleeping bag or sheets and blanket
• Pillow
• Small backpack or day pack
• Mess kit (cup, plate, and bowl for Wednesday night “Cook in Your Site”)
• Utensils (fork, knife, and spoon for Wednesday night “Cook in Your Site”)
• Ground cloth or small tarp

Toiletries & Health Items

• Toothbrush & toothpaste
• Laundry bag
• Soap and Shampoo
• Deodorant if needed
• Insect repellent
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses

Optional Items

• Camera
• Book or reading material
• Small amount of spending money (Trading Post)
• Reusable water bottle carrier
• Extra blanket
• Fishing gear
• Folding camp chair

• Valuable or irreplaceable items
• Fireworks or explosives
• Weapons
• Non-approved food items
• Personal sporting equipment not approved by camp staff
