NOTICE: Due to the current unit registrations and projected participation for this week, available spaces are very limited and open enrollment for this week is currently closed. Please reach out to us personally at campminsi@minsitrails.org with your unit information to start a conversation about options for this week -- in many cases we may be able to make accommodations for your troop, or your unit could be placed on a wait-list. Alternatively, we'd encourage selecting another week of camp where there is more space available. Thank you for your understanding and feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns at campminsi@minsitrails.org.

Camp Minsi, located in the heart of the Poconos, has been serving Scouts for over 70 years. The regional Scout summer camp encompasses more than 1,200 acres of beautiful and pristine Pennsylvanian woodlands along the shores of the 314-acre Stillwater Lake. Summer camp is the pinnacle of Scouting’s outdoor program. With many unique programs, Scouts have the opportunity to experience a variety of exciting activities at Camp Minsi. Each summer is filled with new programs and activities designed to peak the interests of every camper - from newest campers to the seasoned veterans.

General info as you are registering your Scouting Unit:

  • Registration owners can log on at any time to make additions.

  • Non-refundable deposits for Scouts are due to the council office prior to March 1, 2023 to secure their early fee.

  • No deposits required for attending adults.

  • Merit Badge/Activities/Training's open in the system on March 15, 2023.

  • All final payments are due on or before June 1, 2023 to the council office.

  • Please note, Afternoon Adventures may have a fees ($$). When a youth or adult selects an adventure, fees will apply to your bill. These fees are pre-paid and are all do prior to June 1. Plan accordingly with the youth or adult.

  • The unit will receive free leaders based on the number of overall youth that attend.  To qualify for a minimum 2 free leaders, the unit must achieve a minimum of 5 youth on the registry.

  • When determining "Free Leaders" within your registration, use the following guide:
    5 - 20 youth  = 2 leaders
    21 - 30 youth = 3 leaders
    31 - 40 youth = 4 leaders
    41 - 50 youth = 5 leaders

If you need assistance in understanding the DoubleKnot registration system see our Online User Guide.

HOW AN ADULT MUST BE REGISTERED TO ATTEND SUMMER CAMP 2023

Adult leaders attending camp with their unit must be registered in their specific chartered organization’s unit if they are at camp for more than 72 hours. (Note the “72-hour” policy will change effective 9/1/2023. Early adoption is always encouraged; however, for summer 2023 the "72-hour rule" remains in effect. If you missed the webinar regarding the upcoming change to the 72-hour rule, click here to view the recording. You can also review Scouting’s Barriers to abuse here and the Barriers to Abuse FAQs here.)

Adult leaders cannot be registered as a merit badge counselor or any other non-unit position instead of through their unit to attend camp. They could be "multipled" or primary in their unit, but regardless, they must be registered with the specific unit they will attend with.

Why must they be registered in this way?

  1. First: Camp is a unit program. Meaning, youth fall under the direction of their chartered organization’s approved unit leaders while in attendance (see NCAP HS-502).
  2. Second: Because youth participate with their unit, the chartered organization must approve any adult working with their youth. A merit badge counselor (or other non-unit position) is registered through their council and therefore does not have the required approval from the chartering organization. There is a chart below with potential positions they could register in for their unit type.
