Camp Minsi Voyager Weekend
April 21-23, 2017
Calling all Venturing Crews and older-Scout patrols! Camp Minsi’s Voyager Weekend is an exciting opportunity for Venturing Crews (and Venturing-aged Boy Scout patrols) to participate in service, adventure and outdoor fellowship at Camp Minsi.
On Saturday, crews will spend their morning giving back to Scouting with a variety of fun service projects throughout camp (including such projects as trail maintenance and landscaping, setting up campsite canvas and cots, painting, and general camp-wide spring clean-up.)
Crews will then spend their afternoon and evening sharing in some awesome outdoor adventures and fellowship events at Camp Minsi -- including open boating on Stillwater Lake (including paddling as a crew in our massive war canoe); participating in unique hands-on shooting sports activities at all three of our shooting ranges; climbing our 30- foot spar-pole; lumberjacking and tomahawk throwing; Dutch oven cooking; backcountry hikes; and much more.
Crews will stay in the two-person canvas wall-tents (with cots) in Camp Minsi’s campsites. All meals on Saturday will be provided, and shower facilities will also be available.
Cost is $10.00 per person (includes campsite, a patch, and all meals on Saturday). Money will be collected when you check-in at the event (cash or checks made payable to Venturing Crew 940).
This event is being organized and sponsored by Venturing Crew 940 in cooperation with the Minsi Trails Council's Venturing Officer Association (VOA) and the Camp Minsi summer camp staff.
