Minsi Trails Council Scout Strong Half Marathon ft. The Tim Lambert Memorial Run

The Tim Lambert Memorial Run is taking place on October 12th, 2018 in Hugh Moore Park, Easton PA.  Activities offered include a Half Marathon, 5K Run/Walk, a 10K Run, and a 1 mile Kids Fun Run.


Tim Lambert

Tim Lambert was a retired Easton police officer and an active Easton School District Resource Officer.  In October, 2008 Tim and his daughter, Taylor, were tragically killed in a motorcycle accident traveling home from a BMW motorcycle club event in New York.  Tim was a Cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 29 in Forks Township and an active member within the Scouting District.  He was very passionate about the Scouting program and always had a positive attitude towards everything and everyone.  His son, Sean, earned the rank of Eagle Scout Boy Scout in 2013 with Troop 29 of Forks Township.
 

  

This event will benefit the local Boy Scouts of America by supporting the Scouting programs in your community that Tim cherished so deeply.


How Do I Register?

Saturday, October 12 , 2018
7:00 am - 1pm

Participant Packet Pick-up will begin at 7:30 am
Opening Ceremony at 8:30 am

Fun Run begins at 8:45 am

Half Marathon begins at 9:00 am
10K Run begins at 9:00 am
5K Race/Walk begins at 9:00 am

5k Adult: $25, $30 after 9/1, $35 day of

10k Adult: $35, $40 after 9/1, $45 day of

5k Youth/Scout: $15 (no price increase!)

10k Youth/Scout $25 (no price increase!)

Half Marathon Adult: $60, $85 after 9/1, $100 day of

Half Marathon Youth/Scout: $50 (no price increase!)

Rain or Shine event timed by Pretzel City Sports  (In the event of cancellation due to lightning your registration will be considered a donation)

 

  Entry Requirements:

1. Walkers will not be allowed in the 10K of Half Marathon due to timing requirements.
2. T-Shirts not guaranteed if not pre-registered by September 1st.

3.Pre-registration closes Midnight, Friday, October 4, 2019.  All mail-in registrations must be received by this date.

4. Adult registrations after September 1, 2018 require a $5 late fee for 5k, $5 for 10k, and $25 for Half Marathon.
5. Any adult day-of registrations will incure an additional $5 late fee for 5 and 10k and $15 for Half Marathon.

6. Credit Card payments for day-of registrations are not accepted (cash or check only)
7. Registration for 1 mile fun run will be on the day of the event or online.
8. All participants MUST finish 5K within an hour or less.
9. A fee of $25 will be charged for all returned checks.
10. Entries are non-transferrable, non-refundable and non-deferrable.

What distances is the race?

5k walk/run, 10k run, and 1 Miles Kids Fun Run

1/2 Marathon is 13.1 Miles

 

Can I walk?

You can walk in the KIDS FUN RUN or the 5k.  No walkers will be permitted in the 10k or Half Marathon.

 

What is the registration fee?

KIDS FUN RUN – NO fee day of registration only

5k run/walk $25, $30 after 9/1, and $35 day of

5k run/walk youth scout $15 (no price increase)

10k run $35, $40 after 9/1 and $45 day of

10k run youth scout $25 (no price increase)

1/2 Marathon Adult $60, $85 after 9/1, $100 day of

1/2 Marathon Scout/Youth $50 (no price increase)

 

What is the KIDS FUN RUN?

The KIDS FUN RUN gives your entire family the opportunity to join in on this special event!

Kids 12 and under are encouraged to participate, with a supervised parent.  No registration fee for the KIDS FUN RUN.  Register the day of the event or online.

Kids that participate will receive a Patch. 

 

What is the course like?

FLAT, FAST on mostly shaded trail. Great opportunity to get a personal record!  Race starts and ends at same location .

 

Who is timing the race?

Pretzel City Sports

 

Will there be awards?

Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers, and the top three (3) finishers in each of the following age groups will receive awards for 5&10k's, both male and female: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Only top 3 Male/Female will receive medals in Half Marathon.

Scouts will be awarded as follows – 1st -3rd place for Cub Scouts 7-11 and 1st -3rd place for Scout/Venturer (11-20)

 

What time is the Award Ceremony?

The Award Ceremony will take place approximately 11am in the Hugh Moore Park pavilion.

 

Is my registration fee refundable?

Registration fees and all associated costs are non-refundable.  In the event of hazardous weather, all registrations fees will be donated directed to Boy Scout of America Minsi Trails Council

 

Can I transfer my bib to another runner?

Registrations/Bib Numbers are non-transferable. Registration fees and all associated costs are non-refundable.

 

When does Online Registration close?

Online registration closes on midnight, October 4th.   T-Shirts are guaranteed with registration by September 1st.   

 

Where can I pick up my race packet?

Registration opens at 7:00am in the Park Pavilion

Includes:  Bib and Runner Shirt (Shirts are only included if you register by September 1st)

 

Are strollers allowed?

Due to the narrowness of the trail strollers will not be permitted.

 

Are dogs allowed?

Due to the narrowness of the trail dogs will not be permitted.

 

Will there be a Bag Check?

No.

 

Are drinks and food available on the course?

There will be one water station along the route for the runners.  No food on the course.  Food will be provided after the run for participants.

 

Are there bathrooms on the course?

Not on the course. Portable toilets are available in Park.

 

Is food available at the finish?

Yes. Food and drinks will both be provided for participants after the race while supplies last.

 

Where can I get my results after the race?

Race results can be found at www.pretzelcitysports.com sometime first business day after the event.

 

I registered for one race but want to do a different distance. Can I change my registration? 

Yes, registrations can be changed until October 4th, 2019

 

Where can I spectate from?

You can watch runners along the path at the start and finish line.
