As of March 20, 2020

Will still be accepting any helpers at this time but will not be able to schedule anybody yet due to the circumstances we are in right now. I have been reached out by some troops already and they have been locked in. So what I am going to do is whoever is interested and gets back to me I will do a “first come first serve” basis which just means when we get ready for the season those who get back to me first will be reached out first to pick games they will like to help out with. Hope all you understand I look forward to seeing you all this season!

Update from the Lehigh Valley IronPigs

Allentown, Pennsylvania (17 March 2020) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have announced that Opening Day for the 2020 season has been delayed. With the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) recommendation to halt any gatherings of larger than 50 people for eight weeks, the IronPigs season will be pushed back until at least mid-May.

Please stay tuned for updates by going to ironpigsbaseball.com and by following the team’s social media pages. The IronPigs, like all of Major and Minor League Baseball, will be monitoring guidance from government and health organizations and will be updating fans occasionally.

In the interim, the team will be doing its part in supporting local community efforts and fellow businesses, and by abiding by and reinforcing health and safety measures for our employees and fans. The IronPigs extend our best wishes to all individuals, businesses and communities who have been impacted by the coronavirus.

Per the recommendation of Governor Tom Wolf, the IronPigs have closed their front office, the Provident Bank Ticket Office and the Majestic Clubhouse Store for the next two weeks. IronPigs staff members will continue to work remotely in the coming days. If you have any questions or issues, please contact us at (610) 841-PIGS (7447) or info@ironpigsbaseball.com

TRASH FOR CASH - LEHIGH VALLEY IRONPIGS

Once again, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs is teaming up with Minsi Trails Council to give Scout units the opportunity to earn extra cash.  We ask that you follow the new 2020 instructions for reserving your time.

Step 1:  How to secure a game(s):

  • Reach out to Derrike Mason, Associate for Stadium Operations
  • Direct Line (610) 841-1223
  • Email: dmason@ironpigsbaseball.com
  • He will be the first and main contact for all things - Trash of Cash

Step 2:  Understand the responsibilities and details:

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:

  • Scout units provide six Scouts (2nd year Webelos or older) and two adults for an Iron Pigs home game at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.
  • The Scouts will pass trash bags among the rows to collect trash.
  • Scouts will collect trash from the game start, to the beginning of the seventh inning.
  • The unit will earn $75.00 for their service for each home game worked… PLUS they will receive eight vouchers for tickets to a future 2019 Iron Pigs home game ( Monday through Thursday and subject to availability)
  • Scouts should wear their uniform (activity uniform is acceptable).
  • Your group will enter the stadium 30 minutes prior to the game using the Club Entrance. Ask for the Operations Intern, who will provide further instructions. Be sure to check for last minute game schedule changes online at ironpigsbaseball.com

THIS CAN BE A FUN PROJECT FOR ANY SCOUT UNIT AND ALSO REMEMBER:

  • You will earn $ 75.00 per home game per unit.
  • Receive eight free vouchers good for tickets to a future 2020 game.
  • You’re giving your unit great visibility doing a service project.

LEHIGH VALLEY IRONPIGS & MINSI TRAILS COUNCIL TRASH FOR CASH PROGRAM INFORMATION

  • Scheduled Unit should report to the Club Entrance Gate (West Gate) of Coca-Cola Park
  • Unit should report approximately 30 minutes prior to Game Time, official schedule may be found at www.ironpigsbaseball.com
  • Check-in with the Ticket Scanners at the entrance gate and inform them you are here for the BSA Trash for Cash Program.
  • Following check-in Unit will be met by a member of the Operations Team who will review the locations and procedures.
  • Units should plan to work until the seventh inning prior to leaving. Units are welcome to stay and watch the rest of the game if desired.

RAIN, RAIN OUT AND MAKE UP PROCEDURES

  • We rarely rain-out games, prior to opening the gates, and during a normal season only a small number of games (3 to 4) actually rain out before play starts. Rarely do we call a game prior to opening the gates.
  • Assume a game is on unless we contact you to let you know we had a rain out. It is not a problem if the Unit decides to be a no show due to weather conditions
  • If we do rain out the Unit who reported will be receive the standard compensation.
  • If we rain out, games are typically made up as part of a doubleheader, usually within the next day or two. However, there is a League mandated procedure we must follow. Once we re-schedule, we post the information, date and game time on our web site.
  • Usually the make-up is part of a doubleheader. In our League doubleheaders are two seven inning games, not the usual nine inning games(s), with a 30 minute break between game one and game two.
  • Units who are scheduled on a date that becomes a doubleheader have two options:
    • Show up 30 minutes prior to the start of Game one and work until the conclusion of   the game. OR
    • Stick with the original report time which will place you here somewhere in the   middle of Game One. Unit would then work the balance of Game One and part of   Game Two. We only expect the Unit to work a total of seven innings.
    • IronPigs try to communicate via email to the scheduled Unit when a doubleheader is scheduled but realize that it may not be possible to alter plans. This would be especially true if the doubleheader is scheduled for the next day.
