Important: No registrations will be accepted after April 4th.

Scouts can register for more than one Merit Badge, (not to exceed 6 hours of total class time).

 

Merit Badges Offered:

Communications, 2 sessions 8-11am, 12-3pm; Pre Req: 3 (Speech must be prepared in advance), 4 (Interview completed before class), 5 (Public meeting done before class), 7 (Option A, B, or C must be done before class, bring completed items or provide link to web/blog), 8 (Please bring script and note from Scoutmaster verifying completion)

Digital Technology, 1 session 8-11am, Pre Req: 5b+c, obtain parental permission, do any three and bring them on a USB drive or CD, 9 do a OR b

Engineering, 1 session 12-3pm; 1 bring item in for all to talk about, 2 w/ parent permission, 4a b c d e, 5a OR b

Genealogy, 3 sessions 8-10am 10-12pm 1-3pm; Pre Reqs 3, 4b (bring a copy not original), 5

Indian Lore, 2 sessions 8-11am 12-3pm

Safety, 2 sessions 8-11am 12-3pm; Pre Reqs 1a-e

Sustainability, 1 session 8-11am; Pre Reqs 1,2,3,4,5a

Textile, 2 sessions 8-11am 12-3pm(Afternoon Session Cancelled)

Traffic Safety, 2 sessions 8-11am 12-3pm

Weather, 2 sessions 8-11am 12-3pm; Pre Reqs 9

CPR, 3 sessions 8-10am 10-12pm 1-3pm ($40 additional fee paid at event for supplies) **CANCELLED**

 

Merit Badge Courses are for First Class Scouts and above OR Scouts who have finished the 7th grade.  Every Scout attending Merit Badge College must be currently registered with the Boy Scouts of America. 

Important: 

  • Class registration can be found on this page.  All registrations must be done on DOUBLEKNOT SYSTEM.  Must be done by individual Scout.
  • For all Merit Badges being completed at Merit Badge College, you must follow the requirements as stated from the BSA 2018 Requirements Book. 
  • All requirements marked on the registration form page must be completed prior to Merit Badge College. 
  • A Scout completing a pre-requisite needs to understand that a written response must be in his own words.  A written response involving text a Scout has “copied and pasted” (or otherwise borrowed verbatim from a source) will not be accepted as fulfillment of a pre-requisite.  
  • All written requirements must be typed. 
  • Partials will be issued for incomplete work. 
  • Some badges require outside walking.  Be prepared for outside tours.
  • The Scout Oath and The Scout Law shall be the code of Merit Badge College. 
  • Full, Class “A” uniform is required. 
  • Any and all supplies needed for merit badge classes, along with any completed work, project materials, pre-requisites, verifications, hard copies of email submissions, etc. must be brought with you to Merit Badge College.  Be Prepared.
  • Each Scout is required to be in possession of the Merit Badge Book for the class(es) he is attending. 
  • CPR Class is open to Leaders and Scouts. Additional $40 Fee is paid at the class and is limited to 6 participants per session. Once full it will be posted on this page!

Attendance is no guarantee of receiving credit for the merit badge(s) attempted at Merit Badge College.  All merit badges require active preparation and participation.

If you are a Scout or Venturer with a rank of First Class or higher OR completed the 7th grade, you are eligible to register for, and participate in, after discussion with your Scoutmaster, any of the Merit Badges being offered.  Each Scout may register for up to 2 classes.

How to register:

1. Look over the Merit Badges to be offered and the difficulty ratings, then have a discussion with your Scoutmaster about what Badges you would like to attempt.  After you both agree on a slate of Badges, go to the next step. 

2. With your parent’s permission, register below. 

3. Complete the online registration form, filling in all fields on the form. (Please note that the email address you use in the registration section will be the one used to confirm your class choices and to communicate important information to you about Merit Badge College.

4. At this point, to pay for your registration, print your registration receipt and return it as soon as possible to the Council Service Center along with all fees made payable to: Minsi Trails Council.

Your enrollment is NOT COMPLETE until payment is received at the Council Service Center.  An email receipt will be sent to you once balance is paid. 

Classes will be on a first come first serve basis for registration. 

We reserve the right to limit registration for Merit Badge College or for any course.  We also reserve the right to cancel a course or activities as needed.  In case any course must be closed or limited, Scouts will be admitted on a first registered and paid, first served basis.  Registration fees are non-refundable after April 4th. 

 

Important: Be sure to discuss your merit badge selections with your Scoutmaster before you go online to register.  Your Scoutmaster should be aware of the badges you are attempting at Merit Badge College in advance and you need to have discussed your merit badge selections with your Scoutmaster before you can register! Make sure your Scoutmaster signs off on your blue cards and bring them with you to the Merit Badge College!
